The xOEM series of inertial navigation systems offer Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and system integrators an extremely lightweight, compact solution for any application requiring a complete 3-D navigation solution. Based on the xNAV series, the xOEM series offers all the same great features and functionality but as an embedded GNSS+INS board set, shedding over two thirds of the weight and allowing manufacturers to integrate and build directly into their product.
Smallest tactical grade INS available
Weighing from just 120 g in a compact board set configuration, limited space or weight restricted applications are not a problem for the xOEM. But it hasn’t compromised on performance like many other miniature inertial navigation systems. High grade MEMS gyros and accelerometers go through a rigorous calibration process to squeeze out the maximum performance while keeping the cost down for customers. The result is an IMU with small in-run bias stability and low random walk that can deliver exceptional orientation accuracy. Coupled with the integrated GNSS receivers, the xOEM series are our smallest and lightest high performance INSs available today.
RTK quality accuracy
With the option of choosing either single or dual frequency receivers, the xOEM series is flexible depending on your requirements. Tight-coupling, differential GNSS, dual GNSS heading and, of course, fantastic inertial sensors are all combined in the xOEM to give great performance. Tight-coupling ensures GNSS measurements continue to be used in difficult conditions. Differential GNSS , either post-processed from a CORS network or logged in real time with a mobile base station, make it easy to achieve centimetre-level position accuracy. Combined forward-backwards (in time) processing and an odometer input (for wheel based vehicle use) minimizes the drift when GNSS is not available to 2.5 m in 1 minute or 1 km, surpassing many larger and more expensive systems.
Standard NMEA messages, a 1PPS, and configurable TTL pulses can be output for precise synchronisation and time-stamping. Event input triggers are also available to generate data points based on external timing and sensors like a camera shutter or LiDAR scan. Serial and Ethernet interfaces can output data at up to 100 Hz. Data is also automatically logged internally, providing a backup to ensure your data is protected. Over 4 days’ worth of full navigation data can be stored on-board.
If you’re thinking about letting the xOEM take care of any positioning, navigation, or timing requirements in your product, an Eval Kit is also available. The Eval Kit provides an easy set-up to quickly test and evaluate the xOEM with your system. With the board set mounted on an anodised aluminium plate, the Eval Kit includes a PCB breakout board with standard Ethernet and RS232 serial interfaces, a digital I/O port, and power connectors, all with pins labelled clearly for easy reference. The kit also includes SMA antenna connectors from the MMCX or H.FL type connectors on the board.
Extensive software suite included
The OxTS NAVsuite software package is provided free with our inertial navigation systems. The suite includes everything you need to get the most out of your data, with simple to use software for each step while using the product. NAVconfig provides a simple step-by-step guide to configure the system installation. Enginuity allows you to view all navigation data and status information in real-time while the system is active. RT Post-process can download data from the on-board storage, add differential corrections from multiple base stations, and process the data forwards and backwards in time to generate an optimal solution free from jumps and drift. NAVgraph can then display the data with customisable graphs and tables, and export the data in a range of formats including .csv and .kml to view on Google Earth.
